A governor has signed a bill saying the state will no longer do something it already doesn't do. It seems that the state needs to do some serious spring cleaning in the state capitol building.

That's what they should do! Why are we even concerned about abortion in the year 2012?????? As a tax paying American, I don't want anyone telling me what to do with my body! And I don't even agree with abortion due to my personal beliefs.

https://news.yahoo.com/arizona-gov-brewer-chooses-fantasy-over-reality-again-184800580.html This bill and this Arizona gov, don't make sense.

So what is it about the gov. and the bill that doesn't make sense to you? Since you are so strongly opposed to paying for something like abortion with our tax dollars.

"This latest attack on women by another Republican zealot demonstrates how little thought is being put into this latest rash of legislation, as Arizona already doesn't provide state funding for abortions. In her attempt to pander to other religious extremists in her state, Brewer made life more difficult and painful for families.
In the hopes of preventing "indirect funding" of abortions with tax dollars -- a claim lawmakers have no proof -- Brewer has also blocked state funding cancer screenings, birth control and other basic health care without adding anything else to the quality of life for her own constituency." From what I have read, tax payer funds don't pay for abortions as it stands, this bill would kill funding for other badly NEEDED services to poor women, like Breast Cancer screening if i'm not mistaken. My mother, aunt, and both my grandmothers all died of Breast Cancer, so I certainly don't mind paying for a poor woman to have the screening.

Then I guess something like this really puts people like you between a rock and a hard spot. You don't want tax dollars going to pay for some medical treatments / tests but are all for them paying for other treatments / tests.
What would be really cool is if you were to state in an OP what it is you are agreeing or disagreeing with in an article you post.

This stems from the thought that Planned Parenthood and similar organizations, since they receive funding and perform abortions, must be using their funding to perform abortions, though they have reportedly proven that they do not. They use the funding to do the other stuff, like give free mammograms and check-ups, and perform the abortions with their own money. After all, the organizations don't rely solely on government funding. They wouldn't last very long if they did.

People don't want their taxes to pay for abortions? That's fine, but apparently, their taxes already don't pay for abortions, so what's the issue? And even if their taxes do pay for abortions, why should they care? Their taxes already pay for tons of things they might not agree with. If a road that I will never use is being built using tax money, do I have a right to tell them to stop making the road? Okay, I do, but would it get me anywhere? Other people would use the road.

Our taxes pay for things we don't use. That's part of how it all works. People need to get used to that.

otherwise why would you give a damn what some state.. that you don't live in..does?

That's quite the question, isn't it? At the end of the day, why SHOULD any of us care what Arizona does? It isn't our state. We have no say in what law they decide to pass.

On a side note, I found the article horrendously biased and vilely antagonistic towards any opinion outside the author's. And yet they complain about FOX being biased.

I was so annoyed by the flat out hatred of that article I actually left a comment on it, and I don't leave comments on articles I read.

In other words, she voted for Obama "just because". A really solid reason for voting for that dork.

IMO, Election2008 was in some respects more like a beauty pageant then an election.
Some voted for their guy based only on his looks.

heights is the answer pick by that and you have a good chance to be on the winning side

In his 1982 book Too Small, Too Tall psychologist John Gillis presents similar results: in the 21 presidential elections from 1904 to 1984, the taller candidate won 80 percent of the time. What's more, he says, in the whole history of the Republic, only two presidents--Harrison and James Madison (5'4" )--were appreciably shorter than the average height in their day.

We glean further insight on this issue from a delightful book called The Height of Your Life (1980) by Ralph Keyes (5'7.62" ). Keyes notes that a survey of the U.S. Senate in 1866 found the average height of the members to be 5'10-1/2", well above average for men at the time. Keyes's own survey of 27 senators found the average height had risen to 6'0.33", 3.33" taller than the average American male. A similar survey of 31 governors found the average height to be 6'0.46".

Simply because there are some who are STRONGLY opposed to abortions and STRONGLY opposed to paying for something like abortion with their hard earned tax dollars and believe that abortion is murder.
If these people will ever except the fact that abortions are legal in the USA and get it though there thick skulls that is just the way it is and will stay , Then we may be able to move onto more important issues that we need to deal with. They are same people that want the government to control marriage .
Once these people come to understand that the government should stay out of peoples personal private lives , then a whole bunch of changes can be put aside and important problems addressed.

I'm sure, based on your posts, that you prefer a much more conservative brand of hate.

You're absolutely right... People are always screaming at the top of their lungs about things that don't affect them in the least.

And I changed my avatar pic just for you, because you like this one so much.
