Deist: One individual who believes in God, but doesn’t believe that he is as involved in the world as the Christians say he is. Deists also believe that the Bible isn’t completely accurate and that miracles and great wonders that took place in the Bible didn’t happen.
Hmmm….
There is a [supreme being] that is usually personified and called (among other things) God.
This [Supreme Being] is the creator of my world.
This [Supreme Being] does not intervene or interact with the world that I experiece.
My world (the world that I experience) was created by the [Supreme Being] (i.e., above all other beings).
I have been using the word being when referring to living objects and thing when referring to non-living objects.
I have been defining a being as a self-replicating biological process. And …and I do not think of the Supreme Being as biological (although possibly self replicating without attrition (i.e., entropy)).
My philosophy is based on the existence of a (well actually) THE Supreme Being (in that there can only be one) but …but I do not, in the way that I regard ‘IT’ (i.e., the ONE), as changing but rather as immutable (not changing) and eternal (i.e., always was, is now, and always will be).
Calling ‘IT’ a being (in my lexicon) is difficult for me.
That ‘IT’ is is one of the few certainties. What ‘IT’ is seems to be impossible to conceive (at least for me). That may be why ‘IT’ has been personified.
