PG&E is considering puttong a space-based solar power station in orbitto producw at least 200 megawatt of power transmitted to a ground station by radio waves. The waves would then be converter into electrical power and into its power grid. Excellent project!
One question? Will this power be subsidized by us and then charged at higher raes on our electric bill?

Well.... yes.

That's how business works. They invest profits made from consumer sales (and other forms of revenue) into new projects.

In your ideal world, where is the money for projects like this going to come from?

Surely all those radio waves are harmful?

i wonder how much it would cost to do this, unless it happens to be cheaper than say 100 or so wind turbines, then i would say its rather pointless.
