Ok..
I have this thing where my brain always thinks up the worst-case-scenarios to almost every situation..
For example... If I was meeting someone and they were 15 minutes late... First I would think "oh..there just a little late".. then it would progress to "i wonder what happened...is traffic bad?"..... then " What if they got into a car accident"..., etc.

I was just wondering if it's just me or do other people do this??
Is it a coping mechanism for worrying?
Or does your brain think up worst-case-scenarios, so if it turns out to be something really serious, that your mind would be ready since you already thought about it happening that way?

what do you people think??

Im the opposite, i always think the best has happened. If someones late then it's just becouse they forgot, or arent good time keepers.

I never think bad thoughts. or what the worse thing that could happen would be. I think whats the best (the person who's late bought me a penguin on the way here, thats why the person is late, becouse that takes a while to do) and assume thats happened.

I wish I could think the best things...

I don't know why... I just think the worst...

The reason hardly anyone is replying to your thread is becouse they find it so interesting they are sitting there shocked and stunned, and trying to work out their own feelings about the isue.

do you think it's because of a special survival/coping mechanism in our brains... or is it just a reaction??
