Hanging is painful and inhumane.
...so is the electric chair.
Lethal injection and gas are painless but time consuming and expensive.
Firing Squad is cheap, quick, and only painful for an instant.

I say do it quick and be done with it.

I suppose that you are correct. And, I suppose, best, in this context, means better than all others. Of course we then have to establish what better means. Maybe the question should be what is the most acceptable way to execute a condemned person? Then we ask acceptable to whom? Well, acceptable to you.

The only truly quick and relatively painless methods are the ones that cause massive tissue trauma. The problem is that a hollowpoint to the forehead, beheading, etc are bloody and look much more distasteful than lethal injection.

In my view, if you're going to execute someone do it the right way - captive bolt pistol to the brain stem.

But then again I think the death penalty is a bad idea.

well i didn't know if you meant "best" as in most painful (some people are like that) or "best" as in least painful. i'm pretty much against the death penalty but i suppos if you insist on doing it, it should be a bullet in the back of the head when they aen't expecting it.

if i was allowed to chose my own method of execution i think i'd go for a pint of laudanum.

Once upon a time, they were publicly and gruesomely tortured and mutilated to death for their crime against the sacred sovereign, then their grisly remains were put on display to feed the carrion birds. Now it happens in the USA as painlessly as possible, after a lengthy and meticulous trial, after a final meal and farewell before a small and exclusive audience.

And it's still just as f***ed up that unarmed prisoners are killed by public institutions.

I don't completely agree with the death sentence. I would give them hard labour insted.
