After a cold, snow filled winter that seemed like it would never end, Pendleton has a week of beutiful, sunny "t-shirt and jeans" kind of weather this year.
Love my job in the winter when it's cold outside and I can sit at my desk and watch the snow fall, but days like today I really wish I didn't have a job at all!
Not a cloud in the sky, 55 degrees outside... All I want to do is load Goliath into the car and head out of town to a lake or river.
Days like today make me miss being a kid, make me miss living at home with my parents. I was homeschooled until I was 16, then I got my GED and went to the local community college and had a part time job at Quizno's. I miss getting done with classes at the college and having your normal minimum wage type job where you might work any day of the week. On a Thursday like this, after class, if I didn't work I had the whole day to mess around.
Growing up isn't always fun, but I guess little things like this wouldn't be as depressing as if I were still living with my parents and working at Quizno's, wondering if the furthest I would get in life is a manager's position at a sub shop, making a quarter more than the other employees.
I wish I could take a day off work with the excuse that it is much too nice outside to sit at the office for 8 hours! | |
