Very interesting but not surprising whats happening in Australian politics at the moment. What has been going on for years has finally come to a head, and we've had the courtesy to act surprised (continue to amaze me). However, it appears that over 75% of the Australian population believe John Howard actually DIDN'T promise Costello the leadership (he so did!). What do you guys think?

BAH! - most people couldn't give a rat's arse about this unless it paralyses the government which is the intention of the Opposition.

Well, to make it appear that way atleast.

My opinion, ofcourse Howard would have made a deal but he does not make anything binding except for where it favours himself - "non-core promise".

I do not believe that Costello would do anything that would destablise the government. He was been a faithful soldier. His raising was strict and, on observing him and his brother, they carry their teachings through and through.

Unfortunately, the other side offer Kim "collins class" beazley who can't make a single decision without his corrupt union mates vetting it.

Ha...I know what they portray but very unsure what is reality. Its very interesting to look at, our state & local government is predominantly Labour but Federal is Liberal, makes you wonder how? I liked Mark Lathem I think he would've spiced up 'parliment time'
