I've changed my internet people and they've sent a new router and I've been activated by the looks of things (the green internet light is on!) and there's a letter that says about my target activation date, email address etc and then is says

your password is: ********** (This one's used for both broadband router setup and email access)

But I can't log into the router! I haven't installed software would I need to? (I don't even know if there's a cd in the box )

To get into it?

you will need to enter the I.P address of it. it will be something like 192.168.0.0 depending on how its set up. The last couple of '0' will be some number probably

if you start command prompt (either go to start, then "run" or if you have vista, type in the search box CMD and hit return) when command prompt pops up, type IPCONFIG and a bunch of stuff will appear, look for "default gatway" and next to it will be an IP adress similar to the example above, type this in a browser adress bar, and thats how you get into your router.

thats if thats what your on about.

If you go to start, then click on "connect to" a list of availible wireless connections will appear, find yours and click on it, it should then try to connect, and ask you for your password.

I have a netgear at home. Give the ISP a call, they will help you get your wireless up and running.

The "This one's used for both broadband router setup" part makes me think that maybe you have to go into your router and set up the password first maybe?
