Yes, i had known for a long time that when the vet took it in it would be put down and i was kind of expecting it

This does not bode well for the 'purveyors of fine feline care' in the UK... You have not been duely diligent, and as a result, someone other than yourself had to notify you of the cats demise! Had you only exercised mor care, you could have arisen from your lack-of-sleep-induced stupor, to relay the message to your own brain, that the cat-in-question was showing no sign of being cognizant of his/her surroundings. A clueless cat, in a house without a master, is like a stick of gum, without a wrapper. How could you? And, if you had the chance, would you do it again? Bring back the talking ass-face!!!
