The Catholic priest of a small parish in Southern Ireland must go into hospital for a lengthy stay. He informs his flock to go to the local Protestant vicar should they have any problems during his absence.
Some of the guys in his flock meet up in the pub and agree that they have no objection, but need to know exactly how to address the vicar, so elect one of them to go and ask.
The guy elected goes to see the vicar and asks him.
"How do you address your Priest?" the vicar replies.
"We call him 'Father'"
"Then call me 'Father'" the vicar says.
"Thank you" says the guy, and returns to the pub.
"You won't believe it" he tells them, "He wants us to call him 'Father', him with a wife and six kids!"
