Right, here is where you write why you support the party you plan on voting for or hope win etc, be it because you want Conservative family values implemented, or you agree with the middle of the road politics, or perhaps you are a racist and support a party you feel sticks up for the whites.

Personally I am voting Labour as of the parties with any sort of realistic chance they are the most socialist. Whilst I disagree with certain of their policies (most notably Trident) I agree with a lot of them. Also realistically they are the only alternative to the Tories, so anything but a Labour victory and the country would be handed to a party I'm completely ideologically opposed to.

Other parties I've considered voting for include The Greens, The SSP (though their support of Scottish Independence put me off them) and the Lib Dems (Not for ideological reasons, Liberalism is too slow and not progressive enough for me, just because I used to live in a seat which was a straight race between them and the Tories so it was tactical).

What about you?

I will be supporting the Conservatives. I think the UK needs a fresh start plus I personally don't like Gordon Brown. He showed his contempt for the electorate when HE decided he should be the most powerful man in the country rather than the people. I also didn't like his policies when he was chancellor. We had one of the largest periods of growth in our history yet we still came out the other side with a budget deficit. He seemed to think that to cure things all you needed to do was throw money at it. Whilst he was in government it was decided to engage in 2 wars whilst cutting frontline infantry numbers and helicopter numbers, both of which have stretched the armed forces and cost lives. I also think we are taxed far to much. Our fuel tax burden is one of the heaviest in the world and still the government persist in increasing it. This is putting companies out of business and putting a massive strain on the average individual. Also why are we taxing our most successful people so much? Why should a doctor earning over 150k who has worked hard all their live, scarified pay a bigger percentage of tax than someone who has just waled into tesco and got a job. Why should a company owner who employs hundreds of people and built their company from scratch, pay a lot more tax than me, who doesn't help the economy at all (apart from buying the odd bit of electronic kit) This Labour government seems to persecute success whilst reward laziness. Benefits should be there for those who have fallen on hard time, such as those who are disabled or have lost their jobs. It shouldn't be a chosen career path. This Labour government is also pissing off some of the UK's most successful businesses and biggest employers. Britain's biggest chemical manufacturer is moving abroad because of the increase on tax. This could lead to thousands of Job losses. Labour have also increased the power of the QUANGOS (unelected seems to be the theme, what with Brown having no mandate and "Lord" Mandelson being the second most powerful man in government) such as the one that banned speeds from lake windermere leading tho the loss of hundreds of millions of pounds to the local economy and hundreds of jobs. The response to this from said QUANGO "we gave them 5 years warning so its actually there own fault". There has also been a increase in bureaucracy with the amount of paperwork an arresting police officer having to do doubling. Alternatively our freedoms have also been eroded. We can't protest in front of the houses of parliament without the permission of a senior police officer. Even if that protest is just a one man show. They tried to bring in ID cards, they have held terrorist suspects for ages without trial, a right in this country dating back hundreds of years.
