what is energy?

The definition I remember is the capacity to do work.

Something that cannot be created or destroyed.

It is a drink which I drink and gives me DA POWA!!!

I am not trying to make a point. I am trying to understand what energy is. Mathematics is the language of physics. I am trying to translate it into words. I still do not understand what energy is.

E = MC^2 i.e. energy is the product of mass and the speed of light squared.

Mass is a form of energy M = E/(c)(c) i.e. energy per a constant squared.

Any ideas about what? You just gave a laundry list of vaguely-connected ideas about physics. No questions, nothing. What do you want to know?

so the greater the energy the greater the mass i.e. energy and mass are directly propotional.

Energy is something that I have very little of most days and that which I do have has been supplied by coffee.

I can't tell whether you are trying to learn about physics, bouncing philosophical ideas off us, or trying to start an argument. I have no idea how to respond to you.

engery = voltage x current x time

Actually, effectively in modern physics energy applies to the capacity to effect change - not just 'mechanical work over a distance'. Otherwise energy would be hard to apply to certain quantum formalaic circumstances. Or so I'm told.
