What to do with vinyl?

I still have all my records. I have no idea what to do with them. You see they are my pocket money, they are my first kiss, my first breakup, my arguments and the things i sang into the hairbrush to.

I know they are just plastic. I know I cant lug them around for the rest of my life. I dont even have a record player.

But there is something sexier about putting on a record. The thing is if i keep them i doubt i will ever find anyone who will love them, chances are they will end up in a skip in due course.

People my age, what did you do with yours?

I would feel better them going to charity i think.

Buy a decent deck, amp and speakers, and enjoy the warmer analogue sound 8)

Some of them might be worth a lot of money.

Hang on to them Treebee,I still have Pink Floyd's Dark side of the Moon album on Vinyl. They tell me it's worth quite a good deal of money now,but somethings are sacred.

I hear ya, what worries me though is hanging on and then I dunno, something happening to me and my kids just dumping them in a skip somewhere

Well, you could turn into one of those old people that like to remind everyone all the time of valiable things they own, so in hope that when they die, they won't throw the valuable things out in the bin.

I left all mine at my mothers house. She dusts the covers once a week, and makes sure that they're all staying clean and happy..

Unfortunately, I hardly ever get to see them, but when I do it's great.

She's got a 1953 Philco Stereo in mint condition, and even has extra needles for it!

I used to have one of those things. I think mother called it a "sterogram". It made a beautiful sound.

I need a new needle actually for mine, there is a chip on it. Thing is I have no idea where to get one from.

at last with the net you will be able to find one, if we didnt have the net it would be horrendous.

I'm sure there is a record store in stirling (which apparently has a great reputation) you should be able to get them there.

Europa Records could be the one you're thinking of. Off to Stirling this evening (I'm pretty much going from Edinburgh to Stirling constantly at the moment!) so may have a look tomorrow actually.
