Julianna Wetmore was born with a rare genetic craniofacial disorder known as Treacher Collins Syndrome. This condition normally appears as elongated or sagging eyes and small or missing ears and generally affects 1 in 10,000. Not only is this a rare occurrence but, Julianna has perhaps the most severe case ever seen. The condition was first seen during pre-natal scans where doctors thought that she had a cleft palate. However, the full extent of her disfigurement was not seen until she was born.

I hadn't heard of this condition until I saw a programme on TV about Julianna..

I'm lost for words, but I'm curious to hear your views on this. I'm also curious to know how someone who is affected by it sees it...

Oh my. This poor child. I cannot imagine having to live this way, nor imagine being a parent to such a wonderful yet frightening baby. My heart goes out to Julianna and to her parents .. May god give them the strength and the wisdom they so surely need during these times and the days to come.

that poor baby, i hope they can do something for her...that can't be any good for her at all...health wise as well as mentally, i mean some disfigurements arent a problem as far as health is concerned but im sure that has to be...poor child and poor parents

I've seen a couple of programs about Treacher Collins... that poor child. I hope that she and her parents will have the strength to deal with this. I will definately be praying for them.
