Loved the Iguanna babe, reminded me of lewie, my adult iguanna who died l8 last year, I also see him on a telly in a shop window in chesterfield, werever I go I always get a little reminder. Sweet

I use a regular craft kit wood burner for these.
My process is:
Sketching out a picture in pencil, then when I am happy with it, or parts of it, I go ahead and burn those in, then keep doodling and adjusting as I go. Once you burn it in, there's no going back lol. After I get it all burned, if it needs color, I use Prismacolor pencils.

I also use the wood burner on art paper. You get a different look with the paper, almost rustic, but its still pretty cool. Just have to be careful not to set it on fire LOL.

On some of the wood pieces, like the fantasy box, I will stain it to get an aged look. Staining fades out the color too, but I like it that way.
