Lent

Right so it's that time of year again. What is everyone giving away for lent?

Although I'm a lapsed Catholic (by lapsed I mean I don't believe in God or the message of the church at all and never have since I've been old enough to make my own mind up) I am giving up sugary drinks such as coke and Irn Bru etc.

What about you?

Not givng up anything. I never really have even when I was in Sunday School. But the day I quit that, I quit being catholic. And yes I will eat meat on friday

I was thinking earlier that I could make it go with my weight loss plan, but I can't think of anything I eat that much that I aren't already planning on sort of giving up.

I don't do anything for Lent, never have, but maybe I could find something that would help with my weight loss goal, like giving up soda entirely.

Mt. Dew (and other sodas). I've started practicing already; I still let myself slip here and there. But once lent actually starts, I won't drink any for forty days.

There is nothing I can give up, I gave it all up many months ago for my diet. The only thing I have is my coffee and my couple of cigarettes a day. Its best for everyone if those two things are not taken from me. They even took my alcohol from me, but for once a month, so yeah, best to leave me my cigarettes and coffee.
