Why is it that the Catholic church does not allow priests to marry but they allow them to molest children and pay millions to cover it up

Um, they don't "allow" them to molest children.

Obviously the Church doesn't want its priests molesting children.

Tell the kids that

then why do they pay for it, big time, when it happens

Because they're corrupt and would rather risk childrens saftey than accept bad publicity.

This has been a huge thing in ireland, an ex girlfriend of mine grew up in a diocess that one of these perverts was sent to after being accused in another region of molesting children, they church actively hid it from the police, scum.

Though this obviously does not encompass every priest it goes straight to the heart of the catholic church since some of these paedophiles were moved to the vatican to escape the consequences of their actions.

They pay up to keep people quiet. They don't want scandals, either.

Because they can't handle the truth-----the church has destroyed so many young lives

The Catholic Church is made up of every member of the church. It is not every member who is corrupt and molesting children. The problem is the administrators of the church don't live in the real world.

Too often and their idea of what is right for the church has proved to disastrously wrong about so many things over the years.

But why allow child molestation to continue---and then cover it up to foster it forever

Because it's the easy way.

cant help ya with the molesting children-- thats not the majority of priests, and isnt actually covered in their rule book... but theyre not allowed to marry because their strongest relationship is supposed to be with god... catholics are stricter that way... they cant be distracted from god... plus its a sacrifice to prove their devotion...

I think that this is a good point.

They obviously don't put too much stock into "going to hell", now do they.

The "sinners" who do the crime, and the "sinners" that try thier damndest(damned ever appropriate) to cover it up.

Sick mother effers should be burned at the stake for taking the innocence of the children that trusted in them, and then trying to bury it for the sake of the church's name. Did they ask themselves what would Jesus do?

Men that do "God's" work, at that.
