Why don't we remake The Godfather, and replace all the lead actors with women? It'll be a great selling point, to give women representation! After all, what girl doesn't feel empowered by being told she's not as creative as men, and has to rely on men for ideas? It's so progressive and exciting!

The difference is that these films aren't rehashes of already-existing franchises with male protagonists. At first, I was worried about The Godmother, since the title suggests it's just a gynocentric reboot of The Godfather, and I was like, "Oh, no, they're not actually doing that, are they?! " But, after actually reading into it, I was relieved that it's instead based on real-life drug lady Griselda Blanco.

If anything, it's actually pissing off SJWs, since they cast a Welsh lady to play a Latina. "Oh my God, Hollywood is at it again with their whitewashing! When will it stop?! " Personally, I would've preferred a Latina to play the part, but I really don't think Latinas are being "oppressed" just because they cast a Celt in the part, and I really love when SJWs lose their s*** over trivial stuff like that.

But aren't Latinas white anyway? Granted, they're not as white as the Celts, but I wouldn't say they're non-white by any stretch of the imagination. So what's the big deal, then?

For the record, I was originally going to suggest an all-female reboot of Indiana Jones, but I worried that someone might actually get the idea to do that.
