I haven't read too much of the Gospels themselves, but I have a relatively good
amount of knowledge on Gnostics themselves. What exactly do you want to
know? Otherwise, without specification, this could take a while.

Well, I've only read some about the Gospels, I know that they found the scrolls in a jar (as
you said) outside a village in Egypt. There were supposedly 42 unknown new scrolls. There
were more, but the ones who found them supposedly kept them next to the fire.

Some were:

- Gospel of Thomas
- Gospel of Truth
- Treatise on the Resurrection
- Gospel of Philip
- Gospel of Mary
- Wisdom of Jesus Christ
- Revelation of James
- Letter of Peter to Philip
- On the Origin of the World

There are obviously others, but these are the ones I've read of. As to the bloodline of
Jesus with Mary, I've heard about it, but more so through the Da Vinci Code, and because
the book is fiction, I'll have to research it before I can give an answer. I think I'll refresh
myself on Gnostics tonight.

a short description of Gnosticism:

a religion that differentiates the evil god of this world (who is identified with the god of the Old Testament) from a higher more abstract God revealed by Jesus Christ, a religion that regards this world as the creation of a series of evil archons/powers who wish to keep the human soul trapped in an evil physical body, a religion that preaches a hidden wisdom or knowledge only to a select group as necessary for salvation or escape from this world.

Recently they found what they claim is the gospel of judas, which is a text that goes on to describe jesus as a gnostic and also puts the whole bit about the crusifixion in an entirely different light from what the "holy" bible has and most christians have.

For some reason, gnosics weren't very popular with the insane murderers that ran christianity back then. Indeed, christian psychotics have been quite adamantly opposed to the gnostics up to our day. I guess its understandable if they know they are wrong, because if the gnostics are right then ALL of what christianity has done is Satanism pure and simple.

*look it up for yourselves, don't belive a word I say*

And just for fun I thought I'd mention a few of the gnostic sects, in case anybody thought the gnostics are One cult.

Ophites
Cainites
Carpocratians
Borborites
Paulicianism
Bogomils
Cathars
Sethians
Thomasines
Valentinians
Basilideans
Mandaeism
Manichaeism

I'm sure all of these are differing definitons of what they are, and of what the world really is.
