If people hadn't died, that would have been cool but people died so it's not really.

There was a point when I wanted to be a seismologist.

I have a problem conceiving the magnitude of such a disaster, same as the thing in Burma. Last night i was thinking about this. I happily cut my grass and watched tv and tucked into some chicken without a thought for what all these people must be going through, the families, the trapped, the starving and thirsty.

I wondered if it happened in the UK or the USA or Australia how much attention someone in China or Burma may pay to it.

Probably the same as i was last night. And i suppose that is what is wrong with the world.

Well that's the moral dilema in life i think we all have...and it just proves that it's not in human nature to care about things that don't directly affect us...but if you say that you don't ppl come down on you like a tonne of bricks! Best thing to do is just say something appropriately sympathetic, not laugh at any of the sick jokes, like the ones about the sunami and madeline mcann and just play the f***in' game...'cause that's all it is...a f***in' game.

How much attention did they pay to Katrina?

My question wasnt directed at Jonnythan in particular. It was a general - how does it affect us all.

I would appreciate people not using it as an opportunity to have a scrap.

My sister was in China yesterday. She said that the news programs over there didn't even cover the earthquake. She had to go to CNN on the TV to get info and she can't access CNN.com, so she really didn't know what was going on. Thankfully she's okay and wasn't in an area of the country that felt the effects of the quake.

O.k...but you pulled his quote and i still wanna put the question to him. and i'd prefer it if you didn't characterise it as having a scrap...i'm genuinely interested in this whole subject...
