It looks like forums are a dying fad as everyone pissed each other off back in the 90's. Aside from Myspace, which is a mess, TFS is the only other forum that I've be able to find in a search that isn't related to something specific like video games.

I was just going to say that as well.

I haven't really found any other big forums like this.

Is Myspace a forum? I thought it was a social network site?

It has an open forum but there really are not very many people there and the functions for posting are often times broken with no edit feature.

Also, the people still there are a bit peculiar.

Myspace is like Facebook, isn't it? I think so, anyway.

I haven't really found any other place, either. Once, but it was very cliquey and I didn't really like it. Too much of their attitude was "I'm right, You're wrong, deal with it".
Not my thing.

They are considered social networking sites, not forums.

There are other forums out there, when I was searching for this one I found some, I googled forums with highest volume, etc and a list came up. I didn't like any of them, but some were pretty active so they do exist.

I think most things have been said. We can chat about TV shows and music and news items and politics but after so long the community becomes small and we all become aware of fellow members beliefs and opinions. We can predict what they are going to say.

So it all gets a bit samey.

I think the genuine reason people continue to use forums is because of friendships formed and habits formed. We all know about gays and abortion and religion and politics. We all heard bulls*** from pseudo-psychologists before. We really dont care for the attention whore any more.

I think forums are changing. It will be interesting to see what happens over the next year or so.

Well, TFS has broke new boudries with TFS+. Where insults are allowed, and you can say what you really mean without fear of a ban.

There are lots of forums which are barely moderated and insults are encouraged.

I have seen TFS evolve from a place where you wouldn't dream of being rude to another user because everyone is your friend to the point where other users annoy the pants off you so much so that you need a place to rant.

I am always of the school of thought that adults should be able to thrash out differences and hopefully get to a point where they can get along. It used to happen.

Sadly nothing can ever stay the same.
