8 years for kicking someone to death - justice?

Sentencing these thugs to 12 years, the judge declared they should serve at least two thirds of their ever so tough sentence. Notice it was manslaughter - so when they were kicking this guy in the head, they didn't mean him to die huh!

They should definatly a lot longer...I think this is just as bad as meaning the guy to die, I mean they meant to beat the hell out of him, they meant him to suffer, and they were filming it so they could laugh at it later.

Yeah I read the article and my first thought that the girl would of gotten a lighter sentences but it looks like they got equal sentencing.I find it's a dog act and I just don't get why you would randomly pick just anyone just like the article said they did it for there own pleasure and benefit. Sick puppies and I hope they learn a lesson from this.....unreal.

Basically a gang of idiots went looking for people to randomly beat up, and they filmed their attacks on their cellphones for fun.
One person they beat ended up dying as a result of their viscious actions. For this, they were sentenced to 12 years in jail - but with good behaviour, they will be out in 8

They definetly got off light. The fact that they went searching for a victim and then taking pictures of their viciousness, shows that they had no regard for human life. That to me is murder. It was premeditated plain and simple. They planned an attack. Did they really think no one would be seriously hurt? Come on! They beat the hell out of someone which led to a death. They may not have planned for someone to die exactly. But they had to know it was a possiblity. And they still decided to do it. I would think it was at least depraved indifference. I can't stand it when murderers and rapists and child molestors get away with a slap on the hand. Which is basically what a 8 year sentence is for these people. A slap on the hand. How infuriating!!!

That is unbelievable. This whole section is so depressing today! I think all should be held equally accountable, because they were all in on it even if they didn't all participate the same way. I think they should be given 12 years a piece for the people they attacked and a stiffer sentence for the one they killed. Not to mention, these kids need some serious therapy. Put them in jail for 8 years and let them out and they'll be much worse than they were before.
