well no offense to anyone but c'mon is there really anything in the bible that is true, personally don't think science would have to try hard to prove the bible is a little off.

I'm sure the stories are based off of truth to a certain degree.

The bible was actually written up into book-form by Catholic monks around 300-400 A.D. The Catholic monks used to smoke all the time in order to get closer to God, so something tells me the bible is a little bit fabricated...

religion comes in to explain what science cant... religion tells us stories of our souls and the eternal, while science can only tell us about our minds and mortality...

Religion explains what science can't until science can prove religion wrong. I just wonder how much science can disprove the bible and the church's beliefs.

really though... all science has proved is that the bible isn't literally true... who says it was supposed to be interpretated that way anyhow?...

and archeology has proven some things in the bible to have at least existed in some sense...

I know, I wasn't saying the bible should be totally discredited. I just think it was a little...fabricated. But overall I do believe there to be truth in the stories.

Also Dan Brown is a pretty sub standard writer i think,
his books sell on silly controversy not talented writing.

I wouldnt say that. Digital fortress was his best book by far. Nothing to do with religion.
A good read. I reccomend it.

Angels & Demons is really good btw. Everyone should read it...it's very interesting and has a whole lot of stuff going on. The only book with enough substance where I couldn't read it all in one sitting.

Phew! Good to hear - again. It was a better book than a film though. Who decided to make that into a movie? The same person who thought Slumdog Millionaire was good?

Slumdog Millionare was good.

Though it was completely different to the book, and the book was better.

actually, religion and science CAN work together, and there are many scientists that claim that BECAUSE they are scientists they believe in God...belief is a choice, and for some people their choice is based on experiences, and for others its simply a choice
