You can also get it from an actual UK shop instead of eBay:

https://www.cclonline.com/product-info.asp?product_id=27722&category_id=902 (best deal, it seems)

https://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?HIS-4830
https://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=334735&CatId=2697

Installing it is stupid easy. There's a slot and you shove it in, then plug the power cord into it.

right but i heard that you have to be really careful about touching it and stuff
i suppose like everything theres detailed instructions on google

No, you really don't have to be careful touching anything. There's nothing fragile in there, and as long as you touch some bare metal on the case or PSU there's no danger of static electricity.

You should try it out. It'll be fun, and you'd really have to try to break something.

just slot it in to an open bay plug it in and it should work but you may have to wipe the new one so that you can use the old one

Installing a second disk drive is also very, very easy. It's become a lot easier with the introduction of SATA. You find a space to shove the drive in the PC, connect power, and plug in the SATA cable to one of the open ports. Done.

If it's not SATA and instead has a big thick ribbon cable, it's a little bit more complicated because you have the master/slave thing. But chances are that your new computer has an open IDE port, so all you need to do is set the jumper on the drive to Master and plug it in and connect power.

No, that's IDE/ATA.

Look at your current MB. If you have an open IDE slot, check that the jumper on the drive is set to Master then plug it in and go.
