Things that you DESIRE

I see a difference between wants and needs. We need air, water, food, shelter. We need water though we may wand cold clean bottled water, we need food, we need food but may want fresh caught lobster, we need shelter but may want a cottage in the country next to Revio.

Most of the things I desire, I have attained - a good paying and stable career job I enjoy, a nice place to stay in a great location that I can call home, the freedom of being completely debt free, good health, and a fiance who has turned out to be everything I could dream of in a girl. And almost all of these things took its time to manifest in life for me, with struggles along the way, but I always had the mindset that I can, and will, make it happen, and that nothing was going to stop me until I did. The only thing left really is getting my fiance here to be with me, and that is in the hands of the DOHS. But even that, I don't see as a roadblock as much as just a bump along the road..

What I desire is.....

To be loved by someone. To graduate from a University with a Bachelors Degree and to be completely successful. Overall, to be happy and content.

yes, to be happy. Everything else we do is directed at being happy. A cottage in the country would make me happy but it is the happiness I seek not the cottage. The cottage is a way to happiness not the happiness itself. good point

Freedom from being a caretaker and live my life not feeling tied down.. doing my own thing.. I want that more than anything and I sound horrible I'm sure to some but it's stressful dealing with older ppl especially when it's stopping me from getting my life on the ground

So a desire is a need rather than a want?

That's what I'm wondering.

Desire is almost or exactly similar to need, depending on how you see it. When you want something, it's just that. Want. You can do/live without it. When you desire something however, it's almost like you can't live without it. You Yearn for it, almost to the point where you need it.

For example, many Christians (non hypocritical, God-Fearing Christians) Desires God's Grace, Mercy and Love. They Yearn for it.
