Hi,

Just wanting to know if anybody has had this problem with there kids and if they was an under lying problem.

My son is 10 and about 4 weeks ago started snoring (i mean really loud) it doesn't matter what position he lays in, it's the same no matter what.

I have made an appointment at the GP's before any1 suggests it.

It could be a sign of blocked nasal passages or something. I dunno . . . There are so many reasons, you're right to go to the GP. Until then, earplugs!

Lol, here's a funnier one: my housemate's cat snores

I think the correct term for this would be sleep apnea. You may wanna look at this https://pediatrics.about.com/cs/sleep/a/sleep_apnea.htm

If he developed it just recently, he's just probably really tired

if he's fighting an infection and his tonsils get swollen (this is sometimes the only symptom), it can make kids snore.

Weight gain, colds, infections, nasal obstruction, adenoids, deviated nasal septum all these things and more can cause snoring. Wont really know which until your son has been examined by the doctor. Hopefully its just a seasonal thing.

Just taking him to the GP's today and he has no nasal problems said it could just be an anxiety thing and not to worry to much.
What a relief
