my major is accounting.....

I might major in business management, but I want to major in English since I like to write during my free time or usually when I am in a certain mood. Usually depressed or sad.

We don't really do the major thing over here but I study Philosophy.

Naps. I am quite good at them.

You can't go wrong with the naps. They are really awesome.

But those naps can lead to serious injury!

I can't fathom why anyone majors in English. Journalism, maybe. But English? Ye gods.

I wish that there would be the slightest productive reason to do so.

It depends. Creative writing, poetry writing, screen/play writing are all part of the English major. The M.F.A degree is pretty hot degree among writers (and a big controversial topic between half the population saying you need it and the other half saying it's a waste).

Another reason is to teach. Especially at the University level.

Yeah it seems more like a course one does for fun rather than for any other reason. Unless you're going to be a writer I suppose, but even then there's always courses like Creative Writing.

Have you ever looked at an English major cirriculum? A collection of the most useless classes imaginable.

I have. I would have gone to school sooner if there was a single productive reason for me to pay that much to take those classes. I would have loved it.

**Sigh**. Too bad you can't learn to deal with trauma through studying literature. Well, not for the patients, but...

Accounting sounds difficult. Some people I know study or used to study it and said they had a difficult time doing so.
