Spose everyone is getting desperate at the moment, clubs have to do what they have to do.

Pubs are getting more expensive though frustratingly, ?2.20 for a pint the other week in town, ?2.20!

Wow, I wish places around here would have them kind of offers. I've noticed quite a few pubs and clubs that have closed down recently around here.

I once paid ?1.50 for a croisant in London, everything seems to be pricey down there.

My local is currently ?1.65 a pint Sunday through Wednesday then ?1.85 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Isn't London the most expensive city in the world? I'm sure I heard that on the news.

Yep, they are desprate ok, people have started drinking in, Dominos pizza is doing very well lately according to the times on tuesday, its orders are up.

But the sad fact is, when the early 90s came and labour took over we all had a boom, people with money opened up pubs and clubs left right and centre, as we all had the money.. now we dont have the money and there are too many pubs and clubs open in our city centres. The drinks price war is now starting and we will see silly deals coming up next.. however Mr Brown doesnt want us to drink in the streets, nor does he want us to hide at home and down load illegal music..

Pubs are having a hard time now. Only the brewery run chains are really making any money. Landlords/Landladies were struggling as it was with increased overheads and constant new regulations have put the squeeze on them untill it has become barely viable to continue. Add to that the smoking ban and it's not good news for the independant trader. The brewery chains will always have the advantage because they brew their own beer therefore the cost is much lower so naturaly the gross profit is much higher. Overall the British economy isn't great at the moment so punters just aren't coming in. I know people do complain about the price of beer but actualy if you know what little profit the publicans are making you might understand. I was a licensee for ten years and I still know a lot of people int he trade, some have sold up already and the others are struggling.
