Twas the night before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
The kids were screaming at the sight of a mouse

My husband was glued to the couch with the remote
As I wrapped the last present , I wanted to slit his throat

All day I'd cooked and scrubbed , yet the house was a wreck
Then I tripped on a toy and almost broke my neck

Sausage balls for Mom had been baked and packed ever so neat
Oh no!!!! their all gone , My husband said "I had nothing to eat"

I stuffed all the stockings and put the kids to bed
I had dreams of bubbles bath dancing in my head

Just a little time for me as I filled the tub
Then all at once I heard a big thug

A limb had fallen on the roof top
OMG this Christmas is a flop

The roads are covered with a foot of sleet
I'd give anything for an hour of sleep

So now the plans are ruined and we are stuck at home
I'll lock the door and turn off the phone

At last my day is over , in bed I laid
OMG all I want for Christmas is a maid!
