Running Over People / Animals

Recently, I was driving a borrowed 4 x 4 truck. I was just getting used to the brakes. They didn't stop on a dime. I saw two boys on the side of the street where they weren't supposed to cross. I started to touch my brakes because I knew they might run just because I've seen it before. Sure enough one of the boys, while looking right at me, ran for it and I missed hitting him by one or two feet.

I've had adults walk right in front of me while I was driving without even looking.

Once for a tiny kid riding a little bike came out in front of me where I had to slam on my brakes and swerve to miss him.

I would be devastated if I ever run over any person or animal.

Has anyone ever had any close calls or did you actually hit someone or something? How did it affect you?

I don't drive so I haven't been in that siuation but I have come close to being run over dozens of times. Normally I just end up day dreaming and not paying attention to where I'm going.

umm I've hit a tree

huummm the list of things ive hit.. none of them where humen...

i have hit 3 possums 4 birds an owl and my moms boxer.. the boxer is the only one still alive since at the time i was just pulling in the drive way and he just stod there as i hit him.. i have also hit my old room mates car shhhh she dosnt know thats where the dent came from. one of the possums was the first of any thing i hit. my cousin screamed like i had run her over.
