Why does giving a post a negative kudo now cost me a point?
I don't care personally - I have plenty of points. But for people who don't have many and still want to comment anonymously on a post they this is offensive, I think it makes it harder for them to do so.

I'm pretty sure points are taken away after you have fed one too many neg kudos out in a day... still giving you the option.. but deterring you from spamming them possibly.

Ok.
I gave 2, to 2 different posts, and they were different posters also.
Seems bizarre.

Well, someone told me that, so I'm not sure how accurate it is.

I've always understood that giving positive kudos give you points and negatives cost you points. The first kudo either way is freebie.

Sorta of a positive reinforcement to sending out positive things.

If you don't feel the kudo is worth the point loss, but its a post that breaks TOS you can always just report it.

So you gave out two negative kudos and lost points for it?

Yes.
Like I said, it doesn't bother me. I'll spend 100 points negging a post if I think it's offensive. I was just intrigued.

Oh, and I also remember that the more negatives you give out, in a day, the more points it will cost you for the next negative. So your second would cost you 1pt and your third would cost you 2pts (though I don't know the actual formula.)

If a post gets enough negatives, the system automatically deletes it, that's kinda cool.

I'm not sure what the ratio is but the more positive you give the more negative you can give. It's to discourage people from spamming negs for no reason.

And yeah if you don't want to lose points just report the post
