Ok I'm gonna bug you computer people again...

...... sorry about this but I'm having trouble.

I bought a usb card thingy to put in my computer today. I put it in one of the three pci slots that are available in my compy and then my computer wouldnt start up... Why?
When I take it out it starts fine

errrr, it doesn't start up at all ?? no freezing before the boot sequence ?? no loud beep ???

does your PSU suppord adding new hardware ???

No beeps... no nothing. The monitor doesnt even turn on.

I've installed lots of new hardware on it (cdrom, sound card etc) so even though I dont know what psu means I dont think thats the issue.

It kida looks like its starting - the cdrom drive starts spinning and the light flashes but the red "loading" light doesnt flash so I'm just assuming that it doesnt get past the power on stage even though the green power light is on. Does that make sense?

i had the exact same problem a couple of weeks ago. i had to get a man in, well my best man anywya...it turned out to be a dodgy power cable inside


i was s***ting bricks worried over my HD...etc..

Maybe try attatching it to a different pci slot.
