Kidney Beans

Why does no one seem to like kidney beans? All through my life I have absolutely loved them; I will take them out of the can, wash them off and eat them just like that as my friends/flatmates/family sit there grimacing...

Does anyone else like them? I can't be alone

I hate them but can stomach them in a chilli. I think it's the texture that I don't like.

There must be more kidney bean lovers out there!

I love them. If I am cooking chilli or spag Bowl then i fid i am picking at them before the meal is even cooked.

In the late 1970's a bunch of british people poisoned themselves with kidney beans. Thus giving them a bad rap in this country.

It was quite funny really, there was a consumer show called "Thats Life" on Sunday nights with esther rhantzen and they was all going on about the killer beans.

Yuck! It's the texture for me.

I absolutely hate them. Hate to eat them in pretty much anything and it's because its a more compact bean, it's drier so that moisture doesn't soak into them as much as I would like. I dislike it because to me its a "dry" bean...and I don't know how else to explain it. It could be the same thing as texture, I dunno.

I love pinto beans though.

I did have a thing against them for years, no rationale behind it, I just didn't like the idea of them. Possibly because there was a thing doing the rounds about dying a horrible death if you didn't wash them properly!

But I'm now a convert, at least as far as a chilli goes! Not so sure I could eat them straight from a tin though ... that does sound a little unusual!

That sounds rough. Beans from kidneys?
