What I find interesting is that I'm more comfortable in an Atheist forum than a Christian one and I'm not even an Atheist. I suppose it's stupidity; not differences of belief that I find offensive.

There does tend to be more stupidity in Christian discussions than atheistic ones . . . it might just be because with as many Christians as there are, there have got to be more stupid people.

Imagine 5% out of every group is idiotic. Now, for atheists, that could be five people, while for Christianity it would be 50.

Good point. However, I have a hard time believing that their teachings don't affect the outcome.

there teachings are definitely part of the problem, but i have a theory that christian...or the type of person who becomes (stays?) a christian has a predisposition to "mob rule"....

I mean they seem to have a predisposition (genetic?) to follow others without all the facts

(sorry...i am not sure that was clear)

blind faith vs. reason

the scary thing is that if you do not question what you are being told, you can easily be manipulated into doing stupid or even dangerous things

blind faith is dangerous

Faith is good. Blind faith is not good. Make your own decisions about things and don't force your beliefs on anyone. I love talking about religion...I consider myself Catholic, but I'm open to everyone and anyone's beliefs...I don't criticize, I don't judge...I learn more by listening and discussing.

Im currently dating an athiest. It makes things alot easier since that removes an entire subject to have any kind of a disagreement on. I may be pagan, but i feel no desire to try and make her think one way or another. Even if our kids where taught a athiest mind-set, i would have no problem with it. and would in fact be in favor of it. Athiests make up per-capita less people in prison than any other group!
