Hey, I know, this could be a topic under News & Politics, but....

our friends in the House have done it to us! According to a watch-dog service (obviously, conservative!) The US House of Representatives has passed a resolution [H.R. 5351] that will effectively raise gasoline prices by imposing a tax (amounting to some 18 billion dollars), and at the same time have exempted Citco from having to pay the tax. WTF! When is someone going to 'eliminate' the Leader of the House?

only when we are watching, or an election cycle. other than that mainly they are out for themselves.

term limits will fix that however!

As if gas prices aren't bad enough?

Urgh, I spent $45 filling up that tank of mine last night, and it wasn't even empty!! I had 1/4 of a tank left!!!

congress could reduce or do away with the federal gas tax for awhile if they really wanted to help.

They could, but then the population would see exactly how much they are paying for the gas, and how much is tax. Also, the government would lose money, which we obviously can't have.

It's not here, but how many people would look at it if it was? If they saw the price drop they would notice.

are you saying the price of gas doesn't go up and down where you live? that it stays the same price day after day.

The pump displays the price of the gas, tax included.

Who said anything about fluctuating gas prices?

That was in reference to the removal of the tax.

Remove the tax and the price would drop.
