An AP report this morning https://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100906/ap_on_re_us/iran_nuclear_2 tells readers that the United Nations nuke monitoring agency has issued an unusual warning that Iran has started to thwart efforts by the UN's IAEA to determine Iran's nuclear program is not gearing to produce a nuclear weapon capacity.

The news is unusual as the IAEA has been relatively laid back regarding Iran's efforts up to this time. Iran and Russia have now fueled Iran's large nuclear site and the by product will be plutonium that could be relatively easy to bring to weapons grade.

Israel will probably not attack due to the likelihood of radiation poisoning spreading through large areas of Iran and the Middle East from any bombing effort.

Iran's religious government issued a statement from its chief cleric this weekend that the Jewish Holocaust was a myth, a superstition intended to get Western governments to illegally support Israel. Iran's prime minister, at the same time, has urged Palestinians to not stop terror attacks on Israel regardless of the Palestinian Authority's peace negotiations with Israel.

So, what do you think will happen next? Does Iran develop a nuclear warhead? What will the Iranian government do with its new weapon if developed? Wait for a missile or provide a "land package" to be taken to its enemies? Who is most likely to receive the gift(s) - The U.S. in the U.S., U.S. forces in Iraq/Afghanistan, the U.K. in the U.K., U.K. forces in Muslim lands, or Israel? Will Iran only use any developed nuclear weapon capacity for negotiation of outcomes and conditions in the Mid East? What do you think those may include?

Or, do you really believe that Iran is seeking to use its nuclear developments for peace and people service only? How do you bring the rest of the suspicious world to this side of thinking and belief?

Thoughts and arguments anyone? Bear in mind that this is a nation that stones people (primarily women) to death after one day trials for infractions of Islamic law?

I hope it develops nuclear weapons. There's no reason why it should not.

Why would Iran need nuclear weapons? The U.S. is certainly not interested in a war with Iran and our military is stretched very thin and is very tired. The U.K. certainly wants no war with Iran and France is not likely to be able to carry out a war of the magnitude it would take to defeat Iran.

Israel does not want a war with any of its Arab neighbors and the Iranians are Persians and far away. The Israelis would have preferred Iran not have nuclear capabilities, but that window for opportunity to effect it has closed. Israel will not attack Iran for the simple reason that any destruction to the fueled nuclear plant would cause harm to innocents across a wide plain.

Iran has no need for nuclear weapons. Why do you believe they need them and what would they do with a nuclear warhead with no viable delivery system?

Because they've got maniacs with big guns and unsigned 80 warheads or more between Lebanon and Egypt. I think that's a good enough reason to have some yourself.

No man, in this world should possess the capability to destroy a whole section of the Earth, our only home.

No religious fanatic needs the power of the atom at their disposal.

Once we colonize the stars, who gives a s*** about nukes, but now we need to play it safe.

The only way to play it safe is for everyone to have nuclear weapons so no one will dare launch! Now THAT'S TRULY safe.

I have no quarrel with the middle east in general, I just hate Zionism.
Israel is turning Muslim land into the new Khazarian empire.

As much as Iran hates the great satan, the Jews are its primary concern. Any nuclear attack by Iran will first and foremost target Israel, I would have thought...

Considering Ahmadinejad has publicly expressed his desire for the destruction of Israel, it is hard to imagine him being peaceful if he had the means to be incredibly violent.

The question is - how would the west react if the Iranis detonated a small, 'suitcase' style nuke in Israel? We would not fight a nuclear war, only a conventional one - the Iranis would know that...

Very skewed view. You need to read more news from sources other than where you seem to be picking up information. Israel has never used such weapons nor has it threatened to do so. Only Iran, which has yet to get one, has threatened its use, and guess what, against those maniacs you so easily throw under the bus. They are the only stability in your region. If Iran gets the weapon and successfully extorts the Middle East, you will bow to Mecca.

If the Israelis survive the attack, all bets are off if they even think Iran is responsible. My bet is that parts of Lebanon and Syria will pay a heavy price, also. If its left to the West to respond, it may be conventional, but it will be so brutal the extremist Shias will have their wish of living in the 6th Century.

How true that is. If Israel wanted to smash the Muslims, they could have done so in 1948 or '67 or '73, and been perfectly in the right to do so...

They didn't though.
