I got 5 gigs left on this computer, and I know if I download more movies until it's full it'll freeze and be super slow... I was thinking about buying a terrabyte external hard drive for like $120, but would it be worth it? It'd take forever to fill that thing up but all my downloads are on 'pause' an I wanna watch more movies lol.

So is 1000 gigs worth $120, when my laptop costed a thousand and only came with 160?

I think you need to get rid of all the files that you don't need anymore That will solve your problem, simply put them onto dvd

Depends, might be more worth it to delete some of the old stuff you don't use anymore.

I'm lucky, I have two laptops, I essentially use one for storage and the other for doing things (as the one for storage is so slow it takes about half an hour just to start working.

Right, so I don't want to fill this one up to the top, but it'd take forever to put them all on Cd's. And I can't clean it out, I haven't watched all the movies, and I wanna watch most the ones I already have again lol.

Besides my s*** is all over the place on my computer, Idr where half of it is haha.

that's an old laptop :O:
I do recommend external drives but if you only have <120Gb of files get a 640gb or something. Also perhapsyou should get a portable drive like the WD passport since you have a laptop.
films are what 2gb so, are you going to be downloading 500 films that you want to keep?
just sayin.

My laptop isn't old, I got it like a year ago!

And yeah, I got about 150 files downloading that are on pause lol and I want them all.

1Tb seems pretty nice...

Certain websites when you download things let you redownload them for free. Maybe check if thats the case with your subscription so you can delete the files, then if you want to watch it again, re-download it.

Well, i bought a laptop towards the end of last year for about that price (it was in GBP though) and it had a hard drive twice that size.
so forgive me for making that mistake.
also yeah, 150 *2 is 300 so why do you need 1000?
just sayin, i have a 1Tb drive that only have about 300Gb on it so you can too

Just like others have said, deleting stuff you don't use or need anymore will save you money. But if you want an external hard drive anyway 120 for a Tet sounds reasonable. I got a 500 for 70 bucks... you can probably find good deals online.

Out of interest how do you find out how large your hard drive is, and how do you find out how full it is?

Yeah, but it's not like I'm gunna let the 150 things drain to 0, as new movies come out I'm gunna download em.

Really, it's not that much money for so much I can just keep.

Go to "My Computer" and either right click on my hard drive and see properties or it will jsut tell you there.

I have 111gb, with 70gb remaining. Seeing as I've got 20 gigs of music on here there must be f*** all else.
