On topic: It's just more proof that this whole political correctness thing has gone way too far. Trust these fecking up-tight idiots who have to go and get offended by a an innocent childish remark.

On the comment made by the child: Reminds me of the movie Corinna Corinna... when the little white girl asks the black girl, "Do you taste like chocolate?" and the little black girl says, "I don't know, do you taste like vanilla?"

It was pure innocence. As was the statement by hedkandi's friend's child. By punishing the child the teacher has inadvertently segregated the child and drawn attention to an adult issue far too early for little kids to understand.

My ex manager told me that her little boy got into trouble for turning to one of his classmates and saying, "ah, you're a little chocolate cake."

How ridiculous is that?! I think that was a really cute thing for him to say. You are all free to call me a little chocolate cake.

I agree, it most definitely depends on word choice. And the fact that he is just a 'little boy', further compounds it!...I wouldn't find it racist if somebody called me a little vanilla cake, even coming from another adult.

I think it's really silly how anything with any amount of intellegence can see that's not racist yet we live in a world where alot of people don't have brains therefor we assume people arn't intellegent enough to understand it's not racist

ok little chocolate cake,i dont think the little boy said anything wrong at all.the teacher who felt or thought this was wrong should not be teaching in my opion the little boy said something cute and it should have been viewed that way.and to think we are the grown ups here man we could take some lessons from sweet innocent children..

The teacher was over reacting given that it was a child it's innocent. As adults it depends on the context. If it's a friend it's cool if not maybe not so cool. But given the circumstances sssaarright!!

Lmao. Yes that is pretty ridiculous

The word 'Racist' or 'Racism' is constantly being de-valued by people who claim they have been offended for benefitial reasons. When you look at the big picture... its actually quite silly lol

Calling someone a chocolate cake is not racist nor' is it discrimination or any other words you can think of that end in ation LOL.
I'm white, So my word over racism toward black people is usually un-noticed but if someone called me a snowball or a VANILLA cake :D I would laugh...CERTAINLY not be offended by it!

Political correctness is what ruined cartoons too. 80's cartoons own all...

Anyways yeah it is going a bit to far, I am just curious as to how old this child is. Mainly because I know young children will say whatever, that is part of what makes them children.

People definitely take things too far. Now they're saying you can't say "blackboard" anymore, you have to call it a "chalkboard." f*** off, I'll call it what I want. I doubt the board will be offended.

Yeah that happened a few years ago... at first they changed blackboard to 'whiteboard' - LMAO fkin stupid
I think in England we still call it blackboard, some schools use little whiteboards with rub/off marker pens.
My school uses some technological board thing like a touch screen but its a PC called 'Interactive White Board' :O maybe I should complain as I am highly offended that the name of the color of my skin is being said to describe this.
