Love or hate him? I just bought Your Heart Belongs To Me. I've read Whispers and at least one other novel. It was one of his earlier books.

If you do like him, could you recommend some of his best books?

I loved Whispers, it was the first Dean Koontz book I ever read. And I liked lots of his older ones, the more recent novels started to get a bit 'samey', but I've read Your Heart Belongs to me and really enjoyed it, can also recommend Odd Thomas.

Nah..I'm just not a fan of mass fiction for simple thrill/entertainment. Dean Koontz, Nora Roberts etc. You read one and its like you've read all of them. Its just the same concept with simple plot and character changes I find.

I tend to like authors that tell unique stories, unexpected things.

Well I hate horror so...I don't know about that.

I do like fantasy...and these I though were truly good, they have action, suspense, mystery.

"The name of the wind" and "The wise mans fear" by Patrick Rothfuss

David Eddigns - Belagrath series

American Gods - Neil Gaimen

I've only read one of his books. I can't remember the title but it was about this psychotic guy who abducts a young woman and keeps her locked up in a room for ages, waiting for her to "ripen" or something like that. There was a little twist at the end... it was good. Very dark but good.

I read Odd Thomas for my Lyric & Grotesque Literature class. It's a really good story and really holds your interest. I reccomend it.

Thanks. I've seen that series on the shelf in stores. Is it horror or fantasy? I can't remember what I read about the book.

He's like Stephen King: Good in the beginning, horrible towards the end.
