Condoning Sexism?

I've heard about this a while ago but only now I've decided to talk about it.

Do you believe that most mainstream rap (Eminem's 'Ass LIke That', 50 Cent's 'Candy Shop', etc.) encourages sexism while portraying most (or all) of the women in their music videos as butt-jiggling whores? Ever since I've heard of why rap seems to condone sexism even I'm beginning to think that it's sexist. Do we have it all wrong or does mainstream truly need a makeover? Please answer respectfully. Thanks.

I don't know if the artists themselves feel that way, though some might. I do think it influences younger kids to develop some degree of sexist views, though. They might get the wrong idea about things, even if it's subconscious at first.

Possibly, however female rappers also have sexy women in thier videos. Although they are not in submissive roles as are a lot of those in guy rappers videos.

A lot of it has to do with portraying a game, between men and women.

Im sure the dancers are paid well enough and its just like Benny Hill with rap really

shut up and get back in the kitchen woman its all your good for and shake those moneymakers.

I think the main reason women are potrayed like that in rap is because the big record producers and music companies tell them to have such things if they want to sell their records.Some of the artist might do it because they like to have sexy women dancing in such a fashion to get attention negative or otherwise,but they get their name out there.

its one big attention scheme apprently sex sells so rap artists use half naked women dancing in the back round to make the greens.

and booty shaking is embarssing I cringe whenever I see a 50 cent vid palyed on the music channel I switch it off right away
