Do What!? Do What?!

CAN BIRDS SEE SPACE WEATHER? Researchers have long suspected that birds can see magnetic fields. Now, two new studies (one examining zebra finches and the other looking at European robins) have identified a specific protein that gives them this uncanny sense. Both single out Cry4, a light-sensitive protein found in the retina. This raises the interesting possibility that birds can see geomagnetic storms--not only by watching auroras as humans do, but also by witnessing the underlying unrest of Earth's magnetic field. Learn more about this research from ScienceNews.

you tell the difference the male birds and the female birds, when they are flying.

the male part of the bird will point to the north, but the male bird will not go north, because the male bird be flying backward toward the south always.

I always knew animals (not just birds) see things we humans can't. And I believe that includes spirits they see, too. But that's another topic.

Birds in particular, grow very quiet and still when a storm is rolling in. (that old saying comes to mind "the still before the storm". That's where it came from)

I don't think this is new news, really. Maybe just now proven, perhaps.

two guys walking down a street one day. a bird flies over them and drop a big load on one the guy's shoulder, and the bird flies away.

the guy look at his friend's shoulder and see the big mess, and then he said to his friend, " you want get something to wipe it up? "

other guy looks up and see the bird flies farther away, and he said; " not necessary anymore, he is miles away from here. "

Yes, they've "suspected" it, and have theories about it, but now they think they've found physical evidence of it ... so to speak.
