Is Siouxsie and the Banshees Goth

To all you goth's/goth music fans. I have a question is the excellent Siouxsie and the Banshees Goth? or are they just a plain old punk band

Souxsie and the banshees are not goth thay are just plain old but great punk band!!!

They look like goths. In a good way. actualy the reason i ask is becouse im a bit obsessed with punk rock, but i get called a goth alot, so i was just wondering if Siouxsie and the Banshees was like a band taloir made for me. Goths that play punk rock.

Ye happened to me when i was 15-16 and wearing 'punk' clothes and friends of mine who were metalers where also called goths it just people being small minded!

omg i luv "Dear Prudence" by Souxsie and the Banshees !!!!!, just recently bought their double hits cd, awesome !

They're punk.. definately.
I don't think Goth was *invented* yet when they started playing

what year did they start playing and i can tell you how long "goth" has been "invented"

Well i reckon they invented the whole goth look, but with punk music.

they are so goth... the pure spawn of goth. as were bauhaus and the cure etc... i LOVE them all !!!!!! (you people) who think they are not goth probably dont even know who are !! x x

sid vicious was originally in a band with siouxsie and she was very much a punk in her early days. she was with the sex pistols on the infamous bill grundy tv programme. a lot of bands started out as punk but then evolved. siouxsie always had the make up and had a penchant for wearing a swastika armband.
