Roy Keane has announced his retirement from soccer.

The former Nottingham Forrest, Manchester United and finally Celtic player has finally hung up his boots on advice from his team doctors.

Keano was never one to far from contraversy having lashed Manchester United's corporate guests as Prawn sandwich munchers who couldn't spell football let alone understand it.

Keano also served his country (Ireland) well for many years until the World Cup in Japan when he had stand up arguement with his team manager over training facilities etc. That was a sad end to a great international career.

Even though he played for United (spit, agh! I have an aweful taste in my throat) Roy was well liked in Ireland and his tallent will be sorely missed.

His is a talent that is a big loss to the world of football, all of his controversy boiled down to one thing at the end of the day - it was because he cared so much

A true soccer legend . Even though im a liverpool supporter theres no mistaking his genius. He will be remembered as Irelands greatest ever player and uniteds most inspirational. What he done in 99 Champions League semi final against Juventus will never be repeated.

that was his best ever performance in a United shirt, even tho he knew he would not be playing in the final he singlehandedly dragged United to that Final.

What a player
