It will be a year tomorrow 21st August since the remains were found of missing Danial Morcombe. He went missing almost eight years ago in December 2003 while waiting for a bus.
Perth man Brett Peter Cowan, 42, has been charged with murdering the 13-year-old.
On the Daniel Morcombe Foundation Facebook page, Daniel's family said Tuesday would mark the anniversary of his remains being found.
They used the important date to urge authorities to release Daniel's remains.
"However, we draw no comfort from that discovery because to us it feels like he has been abducted a second time.
On the page, the family wrote they felt "trapped" because of what they considered an unduly long delay in returning Daniel's remains.
Daniel's disappearance sparked the largest missing person investigation in Queensland history.
The remains were found in bushland at Beerwah on the Sunshine Coast, and are still being forensically analysed as part of the Cowan case.
After the family waiting so long to know what ever happened to Daniel they still havent been able to put there son to rest. The authorities wont release the remains to the family.
In addition to murder, Cowan is also facing charges of child stealing, deprivation of liberty, indecent treatment of a child and interfering with a corpse.

I think after waiting so long by now they should have enough information they need for the case its been a year since they found him. They could at least release him to his family so the family can say there final good bye that they have been waiting for.
I could never imagine what it would be like for the family to have found out what had finely happened to Daniel and after a year still not been able to put him to rest.
