i like Guild wars a friend introduced it to me you have to buy the base game dont need a lot to run it and its free online fun there is a sequel due out i have all the 1st series of guild wars and the expansions it was inexpensive and very easy to pick up and play

New game coming out soon called "Rift".

Dont know much about it jsut yet, but cant wait for it to come out.

I think they release it early march. there are a bunch of vids out there for trailers and game play. just do a search on it as I am a newbie to this forum and cant post any links yet.

There are 2 versions NW(ver 3.5) and OW (ver 3.0)

NW can be played for free with options to pay to have a full membership, but as well you can buy in game tokens from other players who have played irl but you just use your in game money and items to buy them..so it can be totally free.

You join clans and have clan wars and raids, go spawning for jewels to keep your clan alive and can wield lots of weapons and armor depending on your class ( mage / warrior).
If you do come and play dont join the clans OC or Arcane they are evil

Since you like maple story you might like Gaiaonline.
I get tired of it because I'm constantly banned for scripting.
The experience is different depending on which part of the site you play. In the forums, it's a bit like this and the online MMORPG is "Zomg" which is pretty addictive and then there's "Towns" where you can chat with people and a bunch of other stuff. Getting gold takes for ever but if you want to spend real money to get Gaiacash cards then you can get rich faster and not be called "noob".

i tried that and my graphics card isnt big enough to do it but i already downloaded maplestory along time ago and i even deleted the original and downloaded big bang i am addicted to it well i was until i havent really played it for a few months cuz i had to have open heart surgery.

If you want, you can still play WoW. Basically you can find the games on the internet for free, and then all you have to do is find a private server. Private servers don't charge a monthly fee so you can enjoy WoW. I used to play on a private server till the 2 biggest guilds left and the server died. I was on a pretty small one though.

Another good mmorpg is Global Agenda. Its 100% free after you buy the game (you can get it off of Steam). But it is more of a Sci-Fi mmorpg. I really depends on what your taste in games is.

Try "Perfect World" or "Rappelz." They are both quite fun and might work on your system. And, they are free!
