Girls who like sport...

What's your view guys? I've often been told I'm a bit 'blokey' and thought of as 'one of the lads' by my male friends. And I've dated guys that thought it wasn't 'girly' for me to like sports and couldn't understand why I enjoyed watching football or whatever with a group of my male friends.

Do you think girls (girlfriends or just friends) who like sports are a bit butch, tomboyish and/or any less girly or feminine? Or do you like that you can spend time with them because they share an interest in sport?

i think it's cool, but i don't look at them in a bad or good way either way...

Kyahbean loves sports - both watching and playing.

But she'll never be mistaken for one of the boys.

Enjoying sports doesn't make you tomboyish.

I don't care, just as long as she doesn't expect me to watch as well.

I find that guys like that I watch football and am willing to watch most other sports.

Whereas girls who don't like sports often want their guys to hang out with them instead of watching the big game. Or at least that's what I find.

Sounds to me like your male friends have problems, of a sort.
Here in Oz all the codes have a huge female fan base, and those ladies are FAR from blokey!
Naturally we too have certain blokes who'd rather do their sport-watching in a male only group, but that's now becoming looked upon as just a bit sus', lol, those tend to be the same young men who pack themselves six deep in their w**k-wagons and cruise the streets, thinking they're impressing the girls!

I guess it depends what the sport is lol. Girls who sit hunched on the sofa swilling beer and screaming at the football are probably a bit butch, lol. Try tennis instead!

I don't think its a negative in anyway that you enjoy sports as much as the guys do maybe if past boyfriends had a problem with you watching sports with your guy friends it was simply insecurity about your being around other guys but to me its a plus if a girl likes sports

As long as I don't have to hear about it, who cares. lol
