Big time fail. Maybe she isn't happy being a mom and this is her way of dealing with it? I'm not saying she is..I'm just speculating here.
When I was unhappy I did a bunch of stuff that wasn't good for me.

What got her pregnant is my question..?? and how??

I dont normally like using the news as a meter to messure the problem.. but there is a bigger issue with parenting than we are letting on... IMO.

Well the precedent is that obesity has been used as a primary reason for taking a child into care which has never happened before.

Personally I blame the media scaremongers of the late 1970's and 1980's.

If parents were not so s*** scared of molesters, murderers, abusers, flashers and rapists they would let their kids out to play.

There was no increase in that type of crime. It just sold newspapers and still does aka madeline mccann.

So all the kids from decent families remain cooped up indoors and its only the chavvy kids who street rake.

Our children are living the sedentral lifestyle of a retired elderly person.

Overwieght, no. Morbidly obese, I'm not sure. I know a family that are all morbidly obese, dysfunctional and unhappy. Most of their grocery shopping is done by buying coupons for the "all you can eat buffet" type places for the week. When they do cook at home, they cook ten pounds of bacon for one meal for a family of five. In this case, there are clearly problems, and this cycle will continue, but I don't have alot of faith in Child Protective Services in this country, as I have seen them drop the ball with children in the neighborhoods I have lived in, kids who really needed them, and I have also seen them be nazi zealots with families that really didn't need them at all. Personally, I think the agents are poorly trained and educated, and the few that I have met are too young to know their a** from a hole in the ground. So, IMO, yes, morbid obesity is a form of abuse, or indicates abuse. But Social Services can't be counted on to do the right thing.(of course this is just in the areas I'm familiar with, which is fairly limited).

A lot of people let alone parents cant cook amount other things like wash them selves and clean there house.. and yet they still decide to Breed. We need to go back to basics and show people what they need to do.. believe it or not its not laziness at all.. its almost stupidity.

I just WISH someone with some brains would do that here in Canada!
It might mean the saving of a lot of lives. Some of the kids I see around are in that same shape, and I feel that is one of the most irresponsible things that a parent can allow to happen, and it is the parents that influence that child and train them to make the worst food choices for their health!
I know that I did not do that to my daughter(who is now 29) and has no problem that way, because I taught her proper choices and not to make a pig of herself.
We will all out-live a lot of these kids!

anyone seen what happens to kids when they drink COKE? there is a reason they put "WARNING: do not give to children" saw a woman the other day with COKE in her baby's bottle!! that should also be considered abuse.

so... at what point do you all think cps need to be brought in? obviously theres the teenager who cant even get out of bed anymore, but these cases are the extremes... some seem to feel that the average overweight kid is a victim of abuse as well, which seems like a stretch to me... so could anyone clarify at what point obesity becomes child abuse?

There are so many obese children here in Canada as well....60% of children are overweight. It's abuse to feed your child crap food...and just ignore the health risks that will come
