A Day in the Life of A Day and A Night

Deep within me burns a fire
Heating up my hearts desire
Fueled by a love so true
The flames will not expire


Burning bright throught the night
helping out the starry light
to shine back down and show the way
into another day


The Moon will hide in other skies
looked upon by other eyes
"Come out, come out wherever you are"
I said to the Sun, "For you are a star!"


I sat and I waited. I looked to the east.
When up from below came a light
I said to the Sun, "Well goodmorning old friend"
and in time i'll be saying, "goodnight".


"Your lifegiving rays are what make the days"
I said to the heavenly star,
The Sun said to me, "But its only one day,
That will circle your world from afar!"


I said to the Sun, "If its only one day,
then there has to be only one night,"
The Sun said to me, "Your correct my young friend,
every day is night shrouded in light!"


Night does not move
the day is what travels
A light and dark mystery
slowly unravels


I spoke with the Sun in the midst of his light
and one day he said brightly grinning,
"I have a confession, the day never moves,
its really the Earth that is spinning!"


Later that night I asked of the Moon,
"Does the Sun speak the truth or a lie?"
The Moon said to me, "Its the truth, what you see
is the Earth turning under the sky!"


I then asked the Moon, "Is that why you move?"
"Or do you stand still like the Sun?"
The Moon said to me, "Heavens no my young friend,"
for its circles around you I run!"

The Moon said to me, "I can hear what your thinking"
"Your wondering why I am growing and shrinking"
"Ask Mother Earth and Im sure she will know,"
For she is the reason I shrink and I grow."


When asked of the Earth she replied in this way
"The darkness you see is the blockage of day"
"Its how we align in our orbital trips,
that make up a solar or lunar eclipse!"


Welcome the twilight
The Sun meets with slumber
La Luna above
A nightlight of wonder


One minute here
The next minute, gone
the sky show has ended
They have to move on


Living our lives we know one things a must
that fact that we all will return to the crust
of this world we call home, that is taken for granted
each soul is a seed higher powers have planted
