Universal Flu Vaccine

Scientists at biotech firm Acambis are working to perfect a vaccine designed to give lifelong protection against all strains of influenza A - the cause of pandemics. Many experts believe a pandemic of the human form of avian flu is approaching and will kill tens of millions of people worldwide when it arrives. Unlike traditional flu vaccines, supplies of the new vaccine could be built up prior to such an outbreak. Dr Michael Watson of Acambis said: "It can be manufactured at any time of the year, and could be stockpiled in advance of a pandemic or potentially used routinely to ensure population protection against future pandemics." And you expect the drug companies to release it? It'd knock all the profit from future flu drug sales.
This would be like the petroleum industry selling an additive to increase gas milage to 200 KM per Litre.

The flu shot they have out now just about killed my daughter, so we haven't gotten it since. This s*** scares me though. What do you do when you're stuck between a rock and a hard place?

I have to have mine every year because of Asthma so it would be great a life time one
