I always used to get static shock when i was working in (don't laugh...) a laundry cleaners

But the shock!? Man that stung like a b**** and I used to get headaches and feel sick

Whoa! Thats quite strong then!

I once had a day where I got an electric shock from nearly everything metal thing in the Arndale centre in Manchester! Its never happened before or since too, weird,

That situation could cause damage to computers. If you build up a static charge that great, your office should install a grounding mat where it is worse. FYI.
